WHY THIS MATTERS HERE

Built for the way Rwandan customers buy.

A real native app on iOS and Android is a serious investment — App Store reviews, Play Store policies, two codebases, push notifications, payment processor sign-offs. We build them when the business case is real: delivery, daily-use field tools, customer-facing logged-in experiences. For most Rwandan SMBs, a fast mobile-first website or progressive web app does the job for a quarter of the cost — installable to the home screen, works offline, sends notifications, accepts MoMo. We'll look at what you actually need on the first WhatsApp call and tell you which one makes sense.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
01

iOS + Android in one codebase

Built in React Native or Flutter so one team ships both stores. The app feels native on each platform; the codebase stays maintainable for years.

02

Progressive web app when an app is overkill

When the use-case doesn't need camera, biometrics, or App Store distribution, a PWA installs to the home screen, works offline, and ships in half the time.

03

MoMo Pay and Airtel Money in checkout

In-app payments through MTN MoMo and Airtel OpenAPI. Customers pay with the wallet they already use; the money lands in your business account same day.

04

Push notifications + WhatsApp deep links

Order updates, booking reminders, abandoned-cart nudges. Notifications customers actually open because they're tied to real events, not marketing spam.

05

App Store + Play Store submission handled

Apple developer account, Play console setup, App Store screenshots, privacy policies, review responses — we handle the whole submission cycle until the app is live.

06

Source code registered to you

Git repository under your GitHub organisation, signing keys in your name, builds reproducible by any other developer in 2030.

WHO IT'S FOR

Honest about who this is for.

  • Delivery, dispatch and field-service businesses that need a real native app for drivers or technicians.
  • Logged-in customer apps for fintech, lending, savings or insurance products operating in Rwanda.
  • Booking platforms where the customer comes back weekly and needs the icon on the home screen.
  • Internal team tools for staff in the field — stocktaking, audits, deliveries — that work offline.
  • Businesses with a working web product ready to extend onto iOS and Android.
QUESTIONS WE HEAR

How much does it cost to build a mobile app in Rwanda?

A focused mobile app (iOS + Android) at Opus starts at 2,500,000 RWF and typically lands between 4,000,000 and 12,000,000 RWF depending on the feature set, payments, offline support and admin dashboards. A progressive web app that installs to the home screen and accepts MoMo runs 800,000–2,000,000 RWF and ships in three weeks.

How long does it take to develop a mobile app in Kigali?

Native iOS + Android apps take 6–10 weeks for a focused MVP and 3–4 months for full-featured apps with admin dashboards and payment flows. Progressive web apps ship in 2–3 weeks.

Do I need a native app or is a website enough?

Most Rwandan SMBs don't need a native app — a fast mobile-first website with MoMo Pay does 90% of what a native app would, at a quarter of the cost. You need a native app when your business depends on push notifications, camera, location, offline mode, or being discoverable on the App Store. We'll tell you the truth on the first call.

Can the app accept MoMo Pay and Airtel Money?

Yes. Every app we build for customer-facing payments has MTN MoMo and Airtel Money wired into checkout using the official APIs. We don't use third-party processors that take a cut on top.

Will the app work offline?

Where it matters, yes — field-service apps, POS apps and stocktaking apps are designed to keep working when the internet drops, then sync the moment it's back. Consumer-facing apps cache key screens but require a connection for transactions.

Who owns the App Store account?

You own the App Store and Play Store developer accounts — they're registered in your business name with your bank details on file. We're added as developers during the build and removed after handover.
